CHRISTOPHER CRESCITELLI, Chief Creative Officer (CCO)
Christopher Crescitelli has been a career freelance creative artist, writer, producer, and director for almost two decades. In 2004, Christopher founded The Dream Factory Studio, a creative development and production company that specializes in stereoscopic 3-D animation and live action acquisition. His creative collaborations cover the spectrum of artistic expression from film, television, and theatrical projects to newly emerging 3-D entertainment technologies and live event marketing ventures. With more than 100 hours of 2D/3D feature film and television content to his producing credit he has a proven track record for the execution of high quality content in all forms of media. Over the years Christopher has been fortunate enough to have worked with such companies as Sony Pictures, 20th Century Fox, Universal Pictures & Theme Parks, Warner Brothers, ABC, CBS, NBC, USA Networks, Miramax, Walt Disney Pictures, IMAX, Lego, Jim Henson Pictures and Spelling Television.
In 2008, Christopher founded the 3-D Film & Interactive Festival (3DFF), which is celebrated as the first digital 3-D film festival in the world to feature an entire program comprised of stereoscopic 3-D motion picture and interactive content. Christopher has worked with most major 3-D technology and content creation companies including: RealD, DLP, Mitsubishi, Dell, Nvidia, JVC, 3ality Digital, Paradise FX, Dell, NHK Enterprises America, 20th Century Fox, The Walt Disney Company, Focus Features, Samsung, Deluxe Labs, Nagravision, DDD, TDVision Systems, XpanD, FotoKem, IQ3D, Kerner, PassmoreLab, In-Three, Hyundai IT, and many others. Christopher’s 3-D work has been featured at more than 100 film festivals around the globe including Sundance, Tribeca, Cannes, Toronto, Palm Springs International, Fantastic Fest, and the Berlin Film Festival to name just a few. Christopher is also credited with establishing the world’s first 3-D night club & lounge model, which has been successfully deployed at some of the worlds most prestigious nighttime venues including Avalon Hollywood, The Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino, and Nikki Beach Club. He is also a founding member of The 3D Academy of Stereoscopic Arts & Sciences.
DOUGLAS HUNTER, Consultant/Producer
Douglas Hunter is presently a consultant working with The Dream Factory in the 3D content and technology business. Prior to this, Douglas spent six years as the Vice President of Acquisitions and Licensing at Dynamic Digital Depth (DDD) responsible for multi-million dollar development, licensing and publishing deals in the 3D market. In this capacity he negotiated IP deals with CE companies like Samsung, Sharp and Acer and 3D content distribution deals with Vivendi Entertainment, National Geographic and K2 Communications. Before entering the 3D world, Douglas spent over ten years in the 2D film/television finance, production and distribution business. He produced three feature films, worked as a development and production executive and consulted for various film/TV production, distribution and technology related companies. Douglas has an MBA from The Anderson School at UCLA and a BA in Japanese and Business from the University of Michigan.
BOB JOHNSTON, Executive Consultant
Bob Johnston is a 30-year veteran of the entertainment production and marketing industry. He began his career managing all aspects of live event production, marketing and promotion, then quickly transitioned into the production management of television programs, commercials and feature films, directing corporate video projects, multi-camera music events and single camera music video programming. His feature film production responsibilities have included duties such as line producer, production manager and technical director. In traditional 2D media, Bob has been responsible for the budgeting, scheduling and development of over 60 features, 30 television shows, 35 commercials, 20 music videos and over 1000 live events in locations all over the world. Previous projects include: TV pilot/series: 24, Dirty Dancing; Christmas in Connecticut; Features: Around The World in 80 Days, Alien Resurrection, Double Jeopardy, The Wood, Big Bad Love, The Rising Place; Concerts/Live Events: Fleetwood Mac, Styx, Journey, Kiss, Police, 1984 Louisiana World Expo, Multiple Music Festivals.
With a worldwide network of international production resources and locations at his disposal, Bob is frequently contracted as a development consultant by other producers to design operational plans, schedules and budgets for new programming ventures. Some of his past projects include films for 1492 Pictures, 19 Entertainment, Disney, DreamWorks, Fox, Imagine, IMAX, Paramount, Twentieth Television, Walden Media and numerous other independent companies. Additionally, Bob has spent decades monitoring trends and developing new content ideas for emerging media platforms.
Weaving both the knowledge of emerging trends, technical and international production experiences, Bob is currently consulting with studios, producers, product manufacturers and business analysts in regards to production logistics, post processes and potential new business models for the creation and distribution of 3D entertainment content. Over the last 12 years, Mr. Johnston has aided in the budgeting and/or development of over 300 stereoscopic projects slated for traditional theatrical, television and live event programming markets, in a 3D Technical Producer or Consulting Executive Producer role for Paradise FX, a leading Los Angeles based company with 18 years of 3D production experience. Bob is also attached as producer to several International feature films currently in development. Previous 3D consulting / production projects include: Hannah Montana, My Bloody Valentine, The Hole, Streetdance, and many others in development.
As a member of the Director's Guild of America, Mr. Johnston served on it's "New Technology Committee", and was also instrumental in serving on the start-up committee for the "3D@Home" industry consortium; a manufacturer's, content producers and distribution technologies group that is formulating home delivery plans for 3D content to the home. Bob Johnston has been invited to speak at many international seminars and conferences on the future of entertainment and technology and the lucrative possibilities of this new immersive medium for international theatrical, television, closed circuit and alternative venue exploitation.
PETER SCHLESSEL, Executive Consultant
Peter Schlessel has been an Executive Consultant to The Dream Factory since 2004. During his 18 years at Sony Pictures Schlessel held multiple high level positions that ultimately lead him to become President of Columbia Pictures in 2002. He is also credited as a co-founder of Screen Gems, the genre film arm of Sony Pictures Entertainment. During his tenure Schlessel was intimately involved in Columbia’s hits “Spider Man,” “SWAT,” and “The Grudge,” as well as the critically acclaimed “Adaptation,” “Big Fish,” and “Something’s Gotta Give,” For a period of time, Schlessel left Sony to produce content but returned to Sony as the newly appointed President of Worldwide Affairs for Sony Pictures Entertainment.
KAREN ANNARINO, Producer
Karen Annarino has been an active Producer with The Dream Factory since 2004 during which time she also held a post (through October 2005) as the Director of Theater Operations for the Cirque Du Soleil Extravaganza “KA” at the MGM Grand Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. Annarino broke new creative ground for the Cirque Du Soleil and the MGM/MIRAGE Company when she ingeniously created and implemented a unique front of house experience for “KA,” a customer service standard that had never been seen before in Las Vegas. Previously, Annarino was employed by the Cirque Du Soleil as a Pre-Production Director responsible for setting up multiple shows in twelve cities worldwide. Her eight-year tour of duty lead her to become the General Manager of The Mirage Hotel’s “Nouvelle Experience,” the first- casino based Cirque show in Las Vegas. Additionally, Annarino has worked as a visual effects producer for award winning film, television, and theme park projects such as: “Siegfried and Roy’s 3-D Imax Film,” HBO’s “From the Earth to the Moon,” and Universal Studios’ Lost City of Atlantis, a ride attraction at the Islands of Adventure in Orlando.
